
Sea Isle City resident Marie Gleason, at left, became one of the newest members of the Ocean City – Upper Township Rotary Club with an induction ceremony on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, during a joint luncheon meeting with Somers Point Rotary. OCUT Rotary secretary Nancy Hannum did the presentation. Marie has been attending our meetings for several months. She is a retired scientist (PhD & MBA) and she is interested in helping in the community and giving back to those in need, including veterans, the homeless, those who are food challenged and those students in need of a tutor (among others).
Marie Gleason is a wife of 50 years and mother of two adult daughters. Marie received her PhD in biochemistry from Medical College of PA and her MBA from Lehigh University. She performed drug discovery research at several pharmaceuticals and retired from Merck & Co. Her hobbies include sewing, biking, jigsaw puzzling, and beachcombing. She also is a volunteer advocate for the homeless at Branches in southern NJ.
